A still image of the garden where I grew up covers a few remnants of white columns and abducts them into the dark jungle.

‘Perhaps my only true country is my body’ is an ongoing project about the transformation of space, about shifting backgrounds and the relation between identity and space. Focused in the jungle as an entity and as a space of constant transformation
“...Deep green, uncontrollable green, plants are constantly growing and changing the space, reducing the space. Peaceful hecticness, an insect orchestra...”

The exhibition collaborates with the conditions of the space where it is exhibited, and adapts and transform to coexist into new habitats, with the idea to bring inside a fragment of the place where I grew up in the tropics in México. The intent of a jungle, recreated in an urban landscape, giving birth to a concrete jungle. Touching the fibres of nostalgia for a place that no longer exists. Making present that in-between, the feeling of longing for a place.
